As a front-end developer, I spend most of my time writing code and developing front-end applications. Several months ago, I wondered what it would be like to run a tech startup. It turns out that I spend my spare time writing blog articles for such a company. Meet ConfigCat, a thriving tech startup that offers a cloud-hosted feature flagging solution to other tech companies.

Most importantly, I was curious to know how the company was created and the secret behind its success, as well as how they are able to handle high-end user demands while delivering a seamless feature flagging solution. To answer these questions, I decided to conduct an online interview with the core engineering team to satisfy my curiosity and to share what I found with you, the reader.

Being so busy in between releasing new features and achieving significant milestones, we tend to forget how much we've got done up until that point. As such, our active customers have enjoyed our product, but they also continue to find greater value in it as their subscriptions grow.

I enjoy hearing stories about how a company started and what the founders went through. For that reason, I interviewed a founding member of ConfigCat, Zoltan, to give us a glimpse into what went on behind the scenes.

In the context of SaaS applications, having a tool that allows you to control different features and flag certain users is critical, given the uniqueness of their needs and the instability of new releases.

This is where the ConfigCat Elixir SDK's tale begins. This is the simplified narrative of a great open-source SDK, driven by highly-professional folks from three different companies, as told by one of its creators.

We tend to move quickly from release to release and forget to honor the magnitude of our achievements during the year. Let this post be here as a milestone for the ConfigCat team to stop for a second, look back, and celebrate the preposterous performance we did.

ConfigCat's validation phase was a success in our eyes, so we had to step ahead. Above making a great product with great features we had to provide a really stable and reliable system.
